Spring Featured Artist: Jillette Johnson - Pauvre Coeur
Pauvre Coeur is a haunting song about a broken girl who deserves more out of an abusive relationship, where she feels less and less like the beautiful woman she knows she is. The video documents the fall and rise of the woman and her broken relationship, in reverse, interwoven with footage of Jillette performing at the piano. Her performance is powerful and emotional, and the video shows a woman, broken, becoming a strong woman, ready to stand on her own and refusing to take the hand that has been dealt to her. (Trigger warning for an emotionally abusive relationship)

Story and Photo by Jackie Teeple
Bringing her music to us from New York City, 23 year old singer-songwriter Jillette Johnson is a new name in music with her EP, Whiskey and Frosting, and her upcoming full length album, Water in a Whale, but don’t underestimate this powerhouse vocalist and pianist.
Her vocals and talent on the keys are amazing, strong, pure, melodic and commanding; winning over fans while on tour with William Beckett on the What Will Be Tour. Her songs range from the brave and passionate Cameron, to the darker side of the story in tracks like When the Ship Goes Down and Pauvre Coeur.
Check Jillette out on Spotify and on the remainder of the What Will Be Tour! Jillette and William leave San Francisco tonight, bound for Salt Lake City on Friday (4/12, Kilby Court,) followed by Denver on Saturday (4/13, The Marquis Theatre,) and Omaha on Sunday (4/14, The Waiting Room) if you’re in town!
Follow her on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, check out her website and pick up Pavre Couer when it comes out this summer!! Stay tuned throughout the month of April as we post more exclusive pictures from Chain Reaction, songs, and more.
